Behind the Practice

This is not a space for loud headlines. It is a place to pause, to think, to feel, and to be met exactly where you are. The practice was built quietly, on trust, for those who carry more than they show.

Much of my earlier career was spent supporting people whose work placed them in the public eye. I worked behind the scenes with leaders, creatives, and decision-makers, those who are visible to many but truly seen by very few. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what it means to hold responsibility, to navigate pressure, and to manage the emotional complexities of life when privacy is limited but expectations are not.

Over time, my practice has expanded to include clients navigating the pressures of high-profile lives, emotional neglect, trauma, and neurodivergence (most prominently ADHD, AuDHD & autism), especially where these intersect with leadership, performance, and family demands.

I offer therapy for individuals living through high-pressure, high-visibility roles. Whether you are in the public eye or simply feel unseen in your private world, this is a place where you do not need to explain, perform, or protect anyone else from your reality.

An Introduction to My Practice

I am an accredited psychotherapist with the NCPS and registered with the BACP. My approach integrates person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural modalities, with further expertise in trauma-informed practice, emotional neglect, and developmental work with children and young people. I also hold enhanced safeguarding training and a full DBS.

Alongside my clinical training, I bring lived experience of neurodivergence within my own family. This perspective has deepened my understanding of the realities clients and their loved ones face, particularly the challenges and strengths it can bring to personal, family, and professional life.

My practice is intentionally small and private. I work with high-performing individuals, family offices, and professionals in media, music, business, fashion, law, and politics; often referred quietly, always received in confidence. My experience also includes supporting neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients affirmatively, as well as those whose lives are shaped by unique pressures or public scrutiny. Some clients come once; others stay for a while.

How We Might Work

This is not prescriptive therapy. Some clients arrive with a clear need - burnout, grief, identity questions, addiction. Others arrive carrying something heavier but harder to name. You do not need a diagnosis, or a crisis, or a fully formed narrative. Only a willingness to begin.

Our work is quiet, adaptive, and grounded in trust. Sessions are held online, by phone, or in person by arrangement. No receptionists. No waiting rooms. No clinical handoffs. Just a conversation, held safely.

A Note on Privacy

Every enquiry is received directly by me. Many clients are introduced by assistants, physicians, legal advisors, or trusted confidantes. However you arrive, your contact is received personally, never through a portal, shared system, or clinical administrator. This is a deliberately human process. Discreet, contained, and intentionally small.

If You’re Considering Reaching Out

You are welcome to begin slowly. Whether you are looking for a single conversation or something longer, this is your space to ask, explore, or exhale. There is no process to manage. No barriers to entry. Just a message, read by me, and a quiet place to begin.

Testimonials

“I did not know exactly what I was looking for, only that something needed to change. The sessions have been a place to think clearly, without having to explain everything or manage how I present myself."
~ Client, private sector (name withheld)

"I have worked with a number of therapists on behalf of clients over the years. Jo is one of the few I would reach out to again without hesitation. Clear, grounded, genuine and reliable."
~ Private PA to public office

"There are not many places in my life where I am not being watched or expected to hold it together. This has been different. It has helped me get to things I had not let myself think about in a long time."
